Naomi Beutel, PhD
Clinical Psychologist

Naomi is the founder and coordinator of the Family Assessment Service.

Naomi is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).  Naomi completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Science in 1994, Honours in Psychology in 1995, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2010 at Griffith University.   

 

Naomi has been practicing in the field of psychology since 1995 in a broad range of psychological assessment and therapeutic roles.  She has acquired extensive experience in assessing and counselling children, adolescents, and adults and has previously worked within Child Safety Placement Support Services, North Coast Region, and has coordinated an assessment service aimed at preventing placement breakdown for children in out-of-home care in the Logan area of south Brisbane.  Naomi has been employed as a School Counsellor and University Student Counsellor, lectured Master and PhD students in the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of the Sunshine Coast, and has provided diagnostic assessment, medico-legal assessment, and therapy for most major emotional problems.  

 

Trained in a scientist-practitioner model and having conducted thousands of Foster and Kinship Care assessments, Naomi has acquired special expertise in out-of-home care and child protection matters over the past 13 years while assessing families, foster and kinship care placements, guardianship applications, adoption applications, parenting capacity, and attachment.   Naomi is relentlessly committed to providing the highest quality of Child Protection assessments.  She is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Psychiatry, Psychology and the Law; and the Child Protection Practitioners Association of Queensland.

Wendy Singer
Psychologist 

Wendy is a fully registered Psychologist with AHPRA and an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She completed a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) in 2010 and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) in 2012.

 

Wendy has worked in psychology since 2013 and gained experience in a broad range of areas, including Correctional Services and Child and Youth Mental Health. She facilitated trauma-informed group programs at Her Majesty’s Prison in the UK and has completed training in Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).  

 

Wendy has managed the Suicide Prevention Service Program and has previously been a liaison for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service.  Wendy  presented her own research at the International Mental Health Conference.

 

Wendy has recently dedicated her career to adult psychological and cognitive assessments. She is trained in administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and has completed advanced training in Autism. She has skills, training, and experience in ADHD, ASD, cognitive and psychological assessments for a range of psychological conditions.
