Foster Care Assessment
Childhood harm and the removal of children from their families and homes creates emotional distress and can bring long-lasting traumatic responses. The Family Assessment Service conducts high quality, thorough, educational, and professional assessment of foster care applicants to ensure that members of the community who apply to care for the State's most vulnerable children are assessed in accordance with State legislation and demonstrate the capacity to provide a safe and healing care environment that meets the care and protection needs of children in accordance with statutory requirements.
